Getting to know Eva Calo

18 June 2019, By Canela

As part of our Getting to Know (GTK) series where journalists, clients and team members share memories, ideas, experiences, today it’s the turn of Eva Calo, Head of Business to Business Practice in Canela Madrid.

Canela

Where were you born? Madrid

Office: Madrid

Describe yourself in 3 words: Indulgent, Family-oriented, Loyal

3 clients you’ve worked with:  Worten, Lenovo, Ricoh

What are you normally doing at the following times:

7:00? Sleeping! I always prefer to sleep a little bit more than having breakfast or spending more time than necessary to get ready.

14:00? At this time I have lunch, as regular as clockwork. Or if not, a snack if it is a weekend. I’m that kind of people who need to eat something every two hours… if not, I get “hangry”

20:00? That’s my moment, when I have finished my tasks with Canela and as a mother. I take advantage of the nights to take care of myself and to do sport, when nobody needs me at all.

Which city defines you? Madrid, without a doubt. Because there’s always something new, and because there’s something for everyone.

The last book you read: “All this I will give you”, by Dolores Redondo. I loved it and I highly recommend it.

What would you cook for your guests? If I have many guests, I usually prepare Strogonoff sirloin, fideuá, stuffed zucchini…

Favourite app: El tiempo.es. I don’t know how many times I consult it. I don’t leave home without looking at the weather.

One Instagram account you like: @lavecinarubia

The celebrity that inspires you most: I am inspired by people with character, authentic, and those who help make the world better. Not counting some singers that I like, I’m not very inspired by celebrities. My children inspire me much more, they teach me every day that life is much simpler than we think.

The next trend in communication will be: to apply the “engagement” concept, which we have learned with the birth of social networks, to the press. To move forward in this exciting world of communication, we must adapt to the changes that the media is undergoing. We can’t continue using the same formats when communicating in the digital age. We must get closer to the journalist and listen to their needs, and that way we will be able to align our evolution with theirs.

Frustrated profession: Psychologist, maybe. That was my second option when I thought about studying a career, and I’m sure I would have been good at it.

Your preferred motto: Live and let live.
