Getting to Know Ángel Maldonado

13 February 2019, By Canela

As part of our ongoing Getting to Know series, where we share memories, ideas, experiences and anecdotes about the world of communication, today we’re talking to Ángel Maldonado, the founder of Canela’s client EmpathyBroker.

Canela

Where were you born? Madrid

Describe yourself in 3 words: Philosopher, curious and distracted.

What are you normally doing at the following times?

07:00: Lately playing with my youngest daughter who is only 2 years old.

14:00: Feeling guilty for not doing sports.

20:00: On an ideal day, talking.

Which city defines you? When I was 20 San Francisco, at 30 Madrid and now at 40 London.

The last book you read: The Marriage of Heaven and Hell by William Blake and it had a transcendental impact on me.

What would you cook for your guests? Rice, or Paella as we call it here in Spain… although I’m not a Master Chef, it’s a dish that always goes down well with the English. But, please, don’t ask me to do it in Spain!

Favourite app: Mindfulness.

One Instagram account you like: EmpathyBro ?

The celebrity that inspires you most: There cannot be only one! If I had to choose it would have to be (with the forgiveness of Asimov, Blake, Spinoza or Mune) Leonard Cohen.

What advice would you give your 25 year-old self?: You must gather the whole family together, at least 2 times a year!

Frustrated profession: Filmmaker.

Your preferred motto: 9 Women Can’t Make a Baby in a Month.
