Getting to Know André Costa

25 March 2019, By Canela

As part of our ongoing Getting to Know series, where we share ideas, experiences and anecdotes about the world of communication, today we’re talking to André Costa, Senior Account Executive in Canela Portugal.

Canela

Where were you born? Lisbon, right here in the city centre.

Office: Lisbon

Describe yourself in 3 words: Enthusiastic, Curious and Garish

3 clients you’ve worked with: Royal Academy of Dance, Lenovo and Cooltra

What are you normally doing at the following times:

7:00: Dealing with internal conflicts between already missing my pillow and singing my morning song: Wallet? Car-keys? Check. House-keys? Check. Iphone? Sunglasses? Check. Coffee? Check. Ok, ready to leave home!

14:00 Ready to face Work Round 2 after lunch, a cup of coffee and a 10 minutes sunbathe at our amazing rooftop terrace in the office.

20:00 Cooking something delicious for me, my wife and my 2 daughters

Which city defines you? Los Angels, California

The last book you read: Imagine – How creativity works

What would you cook for your guests? Pork roasted in the oven with potatoes and vegetables

Favourite app: Waze

One Instagram account you like: @controlportugal

The celebrity that inspires you most: César Mourão; Tatá Werneck; James Corden

The next trend in communication will be: Quality instead of quantity. Media are tired of receiving more than 200 Press Releases a day. If we have a good story, we have to share it to target media in the most personalised way. It will be better to have 2 or 3 good articles published than 20 copies of our press releases. Brands and clients must start to value ‘good content’ instead of ‘lots of content’ and our role as consultants is very important in the process.

Frustrated profession: Otolaryngologist : An Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist.

Your preferred motto: “What is yours will come to you in the right way at just the right moment.”
