The fifth wave of pandemic takes over the front pages, but positive economic and employment trends bring optimism

 

Given the uncertainty generated by the evolution of the pandemic in recent weeks, the media have put a lot of emphasis on the measures taken to reduce the incidence of the virus in the autonomous communities. However, other facts such as the digitalisation process of companies, a positive outlook on the economic evolution, the sexist controversies surrounding the Olympic Games or the influencers’ panorama have also had a strong presence in the Spanish media.

As for the media situation, Hearst Spain (publisher of Cosmopolitan, Elle among other publications) has announced the closure of the legendary television magazines Teleprograma and Supertele, as well as Telenovela, as of 24th of September. Meanwhile, El País has announced the appointment of Pepa Bueno, as the new Director of the newspaper.
