It seems that this spring what’s blooming are battles… Among social media platforms!

Platforms change and adopt typical features from other social media networks, and all we can do is wonder, what’s next?

TikTok Lite could be suspended in the EU for failing to submit a risk report, following concerns about its addictive impact, particularly on children. ByteDance has until April 23 to comply.

WhatsApp has added chat filters to organize messages into “All,” “Unread,” and “Groups,” improving chat management and user interaction within the platform.

X has launched “Hiring,” a feature that allows verified accounts to post job listings on their profiles. While it competes with LinkedIn, it’s still not a direct competitor as X remains focused on entertainment and information.

TikTok is developing an AI tool to create virtual influencers who will promote products through videos and live streams. This feature, already available on Douyin, could disrupt collaborations with real influencers.

Elon Musk has suggested bringing Vine back, the short video platform shut down in 2017. While the X team is exploring the idea, Vine would face challenges in competing with TikTok, especially due to its lack of an advanced algorithm and the challenge of monetization.
