Too Good To Go, an app dedicated to combating food waste, asked us to create a special action to attract the attention of journalists and potential brand partners. Taking advantage of Earth Day, we developed an idea for two countries, with messages adapted to each language and culture.
In Spain, we produce a box with the enigmatic message “Let’s open a melon”, which contained a melon and information about the environmental impact of wasting this piece of fruit. In Portugal, we opted to use the saying “The rooster gets its fill” to convey the same message, but with an ear of corn (the rooster’s favorite food).
A total of 60 people, including journalists and company directors from Spain and Portugal, received the package. We believe that every time they see a melon or an ear of corn, they will remember that 79 tons of food are wasted in the world every second and that we can all make a difference to change this reality.
