July is here, and the digital scene isn’t taking a vacation 😎📱
This month’s #DigitalTrends comes with a heatwave of updates you won’t want to miss.

TikTok has launched its official typeface: TikTok Sans. It’s free, open source and available on the platform’s website and Google Fonts. It supports over 460 languages and can be used in documents, websites and marketing materials.

Threads now lets users send direct messages through its native inbox. The feature is available to users over 18 and doesn’t require Instagram. Meta plans to add more controls and group chats soon.

Starting this July, YouTube will penalise repetitive or mass-produced videos that offer no added value. Reused or AI-generated content can still be monetised if creators include original contributions.

Creators can now test different thumbnails and titles to optimise video performance. YouTube will automatically pick the title that drives the most watch time.

You can now manage WhatsApp ads directly from Ads Manager, alongside Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads. Meta is also expanding AI tools to power chatbots, offer smart recommendations and enable calls or video chats with customers via WhatsApp.

Facebook Reels now include a copyright review tool that flags potential issues before publishing. This helps creators avoid demonetisation, reach limits or blocked audio tracks.

Users can now add music and themed backgrounds to their Facebook posts. Songs will play when audio is enabled, adding an expressive touch to regular updates.

WhatsApp is testing a feature that groups message replies into threads, showing a dedicated view of all responses. Especially useful in group chats, this makes it easier to follow conversations without getting lost.
