The “Getting to Know” series is back, one of our favourite sections in which we share memories, ideas, experiences and anecdotes about the world of communication. Today it’s the turn of Almudena del Mar Muñoz, the Communication Director of the Cooltra Group, the leading company in mobility on wheels.
Getting to know Almudena del Mar Muñoz
What do you think has been your best achievement in the world of communication?
The truth is that I am living a very sweet moment now, I am inside a company that does many things, which is great for a communication person like me. Having material to comment, share and work on is something very motivating and it causes a lot of adrenaline.
As a client, what are the 3 most annoying things about a PR agency?
This question is very good, what always annoys me in the relations between client and agency is that they are not sitting next to you when that idea occurs to you and, while you write, call or locate them, you lose immediacy; when there’s a problem with the budget and that, as in my case, they do not work in all the markets in which you are. Canela, keep growing!
What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?
Let yourself go, do not be scared. Take the path that you know you want to take and don’t take too seriously the opinions of others.
What is your frustrated profession?
When I was little I wanted to be an artist and dedicate myself to painting, which I did for a long time. Maybe I’ll take it back when I stop working, there’s no age for that.
What social network do you think will be still popular in 2020?
2020 is not that far, I think that WhatsApp will continue to be very strong as an internal communication channel and Instagram as an external one. I bet no one will get ahead of this company.
What challenges will communication be facing in the coming years?
The communication will face fake news, which are becoming stronger and stronger. It is very complex to stop and thanks to the virality of the internet, its dissemination is massive.
In addition, we have to see and evaluate whether the new data regulation policy (GDPR) will affect the communications that companies do with customers and what agencies, for example, do with the media.
It is still early to know the volume of the impact, but I predict there will be.
What is your motto?
Be always the best version of yourself. Do everything you can, try hard and work. But, above all, enjoy.
