One of the favourite sections of our blog is back, “Getting to know the Canela team”, in which we share memories, ideas, experiences and anecdotes about this crazy world of communication. Today it’s the turn of Eva Corrales, Account Executive in Canela’s Madrid office.
Getting to know Eva Corrales
Name and surname: Eva Corrales López
Clients you have worked with: Motorola, Fun Factory, Faby Nails, SlimPay, LuxuryEstate, WD, Café Royal, Stibo Systems, EasyRecrue, Al Dobowi, Vinted, Transics, Serviapuestas, Rollei, Eye-Fi, Libon and Boston Medical Group
How many years of work experience have you had after university? Almost 5 years
You are native from… (Place of origin, what characteristics describe you?)
I was born in Madrid, and I think what characterizes us is that we are very close to our friends, and also to the friends of our friends, in general we are able to give a warm welcome to people we’ve just met. We also really like to go out when the weather is nice and to have aperitivo on Sundays. 🙂
Can you describe yourself in three words?
Cheerful, stubborn and responsible.
How do you see the present and the future of communication?
The present is slowly improving. I think in the past no one really had our work in mind as communication experts, but nowadays it is something that companies value more and more… it is gaining importance, companies are aware that it is essential for their business strategies, and I like that.
In the future, I see it evolving very fast, becoming completely digitalized, with new tools that will come in and replace what we know as communication today, and improve it at the same time. Learning new things is always positive, so we’ll have to adapt.
¿Any funny anecdotes you want to tell us about this crazy world of communication?
One day, I went to accompany a client to a radio interview that was supposedly going to be brief. The guy was really handsome and spoke really well, so much that the interview that was going to last 10 minutes lasted over half an hour because the interviewer couldn’t get her eyes and ears off him. This client had come accompanied by a co-worker, who at one point said to me: “I think you and I are here just to fill seat because they are really into this interview”. I thought it was a very funny situation.
Are you active in social media? What is your favorite platform?
Yes, I’m active, although I’m not much of an addict. I think that being so many hours in front of a computer makes me get home and only want to leave aside my phone and my computer and instead talk, take a walk, see my friends… interact with people face to face.
My favorite platform is Facebook, because it´s the one I’ve been using for a long time, where I have most contacts and the one that’s to most intuitive to me. However Instagram is winning points, I find it very funny.
If you didn’t work in the world of communication, what other sector would you be interested in?
Well, in something that has nothing to do with communication… my other option when I was deciding which career to study was physiotherapy. It’s something that I would’ve loved, specifically physiotherapy in the area of sports.
What do you do when you’re not at Canela?
Above all, I spend most of my free time in leisure activities, with my friends, my boyfriend, my family, but I also like to take some time for me, to watch shows, cook, and do it with calm.
Who has inspired you in your life?
In the communication sector, my creativity professor, my protocol professor and my documentation professor, are the three people who have inspired me the most to keep being a part of this sector.
But, perhaps it has been my dancing teacher the person who’s inspired me the most to be responsible, persistent, tenacious and a fighter.
What is you life motto?
The mind has much more power that we can even imagine, which is why it’s always better to think positive.
