Canela’s Top Tips on how to create and maintain a strong community in Social Media
Social networks offer brands a powerful marketing tool to raise awareness of their products or services. However, social media platforms should not be limited only to the dissemination of information. To achieve real impact, it is essential to define a good strategy, and above all, to distinguish quality from quantity. Of course, the likes and RT are important, but in order to keep our community engaged we need to go one step further and focus on those activities that really create and strengthen a community. So, here’s our advice on how best to go about it:
1. Visualise your goal and go for it
You must be clear from the outset why you want your brand to be in Social Media. The answer may seem obvious, but we cannot stay in the “if you’re not there, you do not exist”. There are exceptions, like Apple, which has no activity on social networks still generates conversation around their products. Make sure you always set goals for your platforms and make regular progress checks along the way.
2. Get to know your community and be honest with them
Paying attention to your community is key to knowing what they need, how to deliver it and above all, it is important to create a real bond based on communication. Achieving interaction in publications is fine, but what really adds value to a brand is to create a conversation with your community and it should be bi-directional. You should listen and attend to all the community’s questions. And if you can’t you should be as transparent as possible as to why not. Social Media isn’t just showing off and advertising, it’s about being honest and open to feedback.
3. Great content is they key to engagement
Delivering interesting content in one of the best tools for creating a strong community. Why not get experts to speak about your products? In Canela we like to collaborate actively with different bloggers and influencers because they know better than anyone what is of interest to the users of a specific target. When you choose your partners well, the results can be amazing! Our experience with Bon Mignon is an example of this.
Is it possible to attract the most trendy bloggers attention on hard disks?
But we shouldn’t get confused, collaborating does not mean that the influencers and bloggers do all the work. We must engage them and explain all the characteristics of a product in order for them to spread the word. We know that it is not always easy, and so the best thing is, a touch of creativity! Adding a little twist of creativity you can even get bloggers interested in hard drives as happened in the event of WD. In addition to fun, you find new ways to communicate and make the product more attractive.
4. Turn your brand into an Experience
At this point we already should know a little more about the community and what are the interests and hobbies. Share with them! And if it is face to face much better.
Going to events where you can interact with users and provide them with a unique experience of your products not only will allow to know them better, it will also allow you to create an immediate conversation as it happens online in the Social Media. How?
In Canela for example we went to Madrid Gaming Experience with Motorola, one of the most important video games event in Spain. There the participants of the tournament’s Clash Royale, which took place on the main stage of the fair, competed with Moto Z family in an action that allowed to position the brand in the top of mind of the attendees.
Creating experiences is the best way to approach the latest news and to generate conversations
Usually the first-person experiences bring us close to our community in a unique way and if not ask out our Lenovo customers. Three years ago we started our journey through the Mobile World Congress with a group of fans and influencers. Each edition we organize a trip that allows them to learn about the latest technology and its daily applications through activities that give rise to great viral potential visual content and experience Lenovo talks in Social Media.
See, meet, create, but mostly live. The basis of Social Media are the communities and relationships between people and there is nothing more satisfying than sharing emotions and experiences, because these are the things that will create the feeling that your community will have about your brand.
